Dear Jewish friends,
I am sorry.
I am not sorry because Jewish homes were vandalized and spray painted, antisemites will do that.
I am not sorry because protesters keep chanting support for Hamas, antisemites will do that.
I'm not sorry that they mark Jewish homes with upside down red triangles, antisemites will do that.
I'm sorry that nobody will protect you, so you have no choice but to volunteer in security groups to protect yourselves.
I am sorry that your friends believe the Islamic Republic over you, who they've known their whole lives, so you have no choice but to lean on each other.
I am sorry that threat of another Holocaust never subsides.
I am sorry that they want to destroy the only Jewish state in the world AND make it unsate to be here, so you feel like you're running out of places to run.
I am sorry that you feel you have to ask or wonder whether the people you trusted would hide you.
I'm sorry that it's been 2,000 years and the oldest and longest form of persecution is still cast in doubt.
I am sorry that you know this pain deep in your bones and every day you still have to prove to the world that it exists and it's happening.
I'm sorry that they see it and still say that can't see it.
I'm sorry that no matter how bad it gets, the world's response is forever, "but what about..."
8 months ago, I promised that people would wake up, turn around, and apologize. Most of all, I am sorry that I don't know if that's true any more.
Today's article looks at antisemitic content denying Israel's right to exist. This follows last week's article looking at "Zionist" & "Zionism" used as a code word for "Jew" to promote traditional antisemitic conspriacy theories. https://t.co/xQUI1FDGx5 #antisemitism
A new briefing today examines right-wing extremism data in our sample of over 4000 items of hate speech from social media posted between October 2023 & February 2024. We discuss one example of antisemitic incitement to violence in detail. https://t.co/tpwHybPpd1 #antisemitism
@qbas81@Jeff_Sparrow@GrogsGamut The first line is right, the second is wrong. The word "antisemitism" drew on the semitic language concept to make it sound scientific. It was coined in Germany in 1879 to mean anti-Jewish. See: https://t.co/Z2z4VAB9xW
