My math:

Monthly expenses: ~$4,500
Plus 10% buffer: $5,000
Average rental site: $500/mo

$5,000 ÷ $500 = 10 sites

I wanted cushion, so I said 12.

Here's what actually works:

Step 1: Look at 6 months of expenses
Step 2: Find the monthly average
Step 3: Add 10% buffer
Step 4: Divide by income per asset

That's your Freedom Number.
