@lucasbaker@carnabychick@cb_doge Correct, utility doesn't determine value, but it precedes it, in the case of money
Was the Zbw$ under mugabe useful, or valuable? There was collective belief in it as a currency - Did that make it valuable?
Value is determined by multiple factors, not simply by collective belief
@lucasbaker@carnabychick@cb_doge Yes, it's utility is being an accepted medium of exchange - that is extreme utility, because without it, we'd be constantly negotiating deals for various objects and services. But its utility comes before its value. Its valuable because it's useful, not vice versa.
@lucasbaker@carnabychick@cb_doge You may be confusing value with utility.
The value of money is determined by a number of factors, not just collective belief.
@gator69brown@teslaownersSV Cut government spending, reduce borrowing and hence money printing, reduce the monetary growth. Lower taxes on business and promote economic growth.
Get it?
@i_iratus "multicultural hub"
Please.
What that means in reality, is crime infested 3rd world shithole in places. No it has not been this since roman times - I've seen the change happen in my lifetime, growing up in south London. Mainly white areas and schools are now mainly non-white
@robprogressive Errrrr.... Oil, maybe?
A country has to either be productive I.e. Make goods and services, and tax along the way.
... Or It has to discover a humongous fucking pot of gold, live of the proceeds and subsidise it's otherwise un-productive economy and population.
You're welcome.
@truthaboutrans@LBC The smile of a person tells you a bit about them. Some people smile, and radiate warmth and kindness.
He looks like a demon, like he knows he's antagonising people, and loves it. Its a dark smile.
@elonmusk I have a password spreadsheet now, which needs a password to open it.
My passwords are often slightly different depending on requirements for different sites.
Sometimes I used different emails if I know they're gonna spam me after signing up.
Fucking MISERY.
