@maiasz Pts can use them. We can’t. And we can’t distribute them because theoretically we don’t have them. So we have to presume fentanyl If opioid screen is negative. And no one in gov’t has corrected this.
@AjayManhapra@TPP_MD That’s true. I was delighted that when I moved to Gainesville, the closest Costco was 70 mi away. I’ve heard it said that geographic cures aren’t effective. They’re wrong. My 50 cent hot dog addiction is in remission & I don’t hv enough AA batteries to last until 2100.
@robkorobkin Not arguing w that at all. I truly don’t know of too many docs who refuse to taper, though. More commonly we see people just stop coming and run out of bup or can’t afford the ridiculous street price and quit cold turkey which usu doesn’t turn out well
@Wilbur7200 @RonFilipkowski You don't have it straight. The point is that there was no reason to test the system at 0500. The test isn't to alert people; just to make sure the system is working. It was a screw up. They hit the wrong button. They acknowledged their error
@HerrMan2022@michelletandler@guyfelicella Jon, stick with engineering and don't opine on something that based on your opinion, you obviously have no knowledge of. Check Dunning-Kruger.
@robkorobkin In addition, I just don’t see much misuse of alpha 2 drugs alone. Even tizanidine isn’t requested much. They’re all sedating but mostly not sought after.
@robkorobkin No. Clonidine & xylazine are both alpha 2, but that’s where the similarity ends. Xylazine has much greater sedating & augmenting effects. Plus clonidine drops BP much more so it may be even more dangerous from a cardiovascular standpoint.
@robkorobkin The problem with that however is that there are still multiple programs run by doc or who have docs who still insist that MAT has no role in tx. Fortunately, fewer and fewer but still enough to cause harm
@GhanaboyPharmd Her lame attempts to obfuscate statistics will only fool those who have the desire to turn this catastrophe into a liberal v conservative paradigm instead of suggesting ways of improving global problems of overdose & addiction
