@Based_Project Crystal balls working overtime in your end of the world. Even if they were half ... what is your point? That still shows D2 was in dire need of QoL updates that people wanted.
Danielle Smith just told you separation would cost Alberta nearly $400 billion.
Not me. Not Ottawa. Danielle Smith.
Her own words: “I came up with almost $400 billion worth of transitional costs that we’d have to assume, in addition to somewhere between $25 billion and $50 billion worth of annual costs.”
Here’s what’s inside that number.
Alberta’s share of the national debt alone: roughly $170 billion, plus $10 billion a year in interest. Then add border control, NATO commitments, regulating banks, railways, telecoms, post offices, CPP, EI, old age security, and child tax benefits. All of it. From scratch.
And here’s what disappears on day one.
In 2025-26, Alberta received a $6.6 billion Canada Health Transfer and a $2.1 billion Canada Social Transfer. Gone. No negotiation. No phase-out. Gone.
Alberta’s entire provincial revenue in 2025-26? $74.1 billion.
So you’d owe nearly $400 billion upfront, plus $25-50 billion every single year, on a revenue base of $74 billion.
That’s not a country, it’s a bankruptcy filing in the making!
Economist Trevor Tombe puts the economic damage at $30 billion in lost GDP and 8% of the population leaving for work.
Economist Lennie Kaplan estimates $130 billion in lost GDP over just the first decade.
The separatists say Smith is lying. Jeffrey Rath of the Alberta Prosperity Project claims the transition would only cost $6 billion. Six billion. For a new country.
That’s not an economic plan.
Not a single credible economist, constitutional scholar, or former finance minister has endorsed the separatists’ numbers.
Danielle Smith built her career telling Albertans Ottawa was robbing them. Now she’s telling you leaving would cost nearly $400 billion.
Maybe listen to her on this one.
 PATHETIC.
It's now crystal clear that THIS ONE 👇🏼, Poilievre, has given up all hope of ever becoming PM of Canada.
He's decided to double down on trying to maintain his dwindling Maple-MAGA base in hopes of maintaining a little bit of relevancy so that he can continue with the grift as LONG as possible: lofty title to feed his ego, tax-funded mansion, servants and generous allowances...
Hence, as evidenced below, he has become a full-time troll. Posting infantile graphics, misinformation, conspiracy theories, smears and insults, on the regular.
To think that, but for a last-minute twist of fate, THIS GUY could be the Prime Minister of Canada right now! Can you imagine??? 😬
We'd be living in a mini-Trump, MAGA hellscape!
@ExoSmack True, it wouldn't be a 'magical' fix. There would still be many paths Bungie could take on a D3 project that would make it fail. Honest, if Bungie just gave players what they want in D2 ... that's the fix we need.
@falloutplays All hope is not lost if Sony is willing to write down so much. I mean, if they wanted to shut it down, this would have been the time ... but they didn't.
@MacticsG1 Don't fall in the trap of focusing on the QoL stuff. You're right, those aren't great reasons to re-install. The primary reasons is the next part of the story.
You hate Mark Carney because he’s a Liberal. Fine.
But I keep hearing “he’s done nothing” from people who can’t name a single policy. So here are the receipts from his first 12 months:
1 - Killed the consumer carbon tax. Gone on day one.
2 - Scrapped the EV mandate. Replaced it with a $5,000 rebate and choice.
3 - Reversed the capital gains tax hike.
4 - Passed the One Canadian Economy Act (C-5) to tear down interprovincial trade barriers.
5 - Cut 40,000 federal jobs with a plan to actually shrink government.
6 - Slashed immigration targets to match housing and infrastructure capacity.
7 - Hit NATO’s 2% target with $82B in new defence spending.
8 - Launched Build Canada Homes + a Major Projects Office fast-tracking 20+ projects.
9 - 26 international trips, China canola tariffs reduced, $97B in foreign investment secured.
Read it again: carbon tax gone. EV mandate gone. capital gains reversed. immigration down. defence up. trade barriers down. government trimmed.
You don’t have to like him. You don’t have to vote for him.
But saying “he’s done nothing” after that list isn’t analysis, it’s selective memory.

@KirkLubimov Anyone that thinks a government run grocery supply chain will be run better than existing free market Grocery supplier chains ... is an absolute moron.
