The @HERFON_NG led consortium, with @Gem_Initiative and @VaccineNet_NG, with the support of @AHBNetwork, paid an advocacy visit to the Office of the Special Advisor to the President on Health (OSAP-H), @DrSalmaAnas. One of the resolutions from the meeting was to develop a one-page document/fact sheet, with which we can further engage with the Minister of Finance on health security financing.

It is an honour to be a part of a strong consortium headed by @HERFON_NG and financially supported by @AHBNetwork. Together with @Gem_Initiative, we are promoting accountability and sustainable financing for health security in Nigeria. In our advocacy efforts, we paid a visit to the Senate Clerk on PHC and Disease Control, and the Senate Clerk on Secondary and Tertiary Health Institutions. Among the discussions were issues on health security and immunization financing.

This incredible carnival, driven by the vibrant IDDO community, was a powerful reminder of the potential of collective action to create a world free from gender-based violence.

We successfully set up a Community Protection Committee (CPC) responsible for ensuring a GBV-free community by continually raising awareness against GBV and reporting cases to the appropriate authority.

"The Big Story" wasn't just about raising awareness - it was also an opportunity to promote community health. We talked about the availability of the free HPV vaccine for adolescent girls in IDDO, a significant step towards eliminating cervical cancer and achieving universal health coverage.

We are excited to announce the successful conclusion of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence with a vibrant community carnival in IDDO, FCT!

This exciting event, aptly named "The Big Story," harnessed the power of the local culture to raise awareness about GBV through storytelling.

Adolescent girls from the community took center stage, bravely sharing their stories and tackling challenging themes like early girl-child marriage, girl-child education, domestic and sexual violence. Their voices resonated deeply, sparking important conversations and inspiring action. #endgbv #orangetheworld
