Paige Bueckers steps onto the court tomorrow for her final season opener as the #2 UConn Huskies take on Boston University.
Her college career has been defined by remarkable highs and resilience through setbacks. As a freshman, she made history by sweeping the AP Player of the Year, Naismith Trophy, and Wooden Award—the first freshman to do so. But injuries sidelined her for a season and a half, challenging her persistence. Through it all, Bueckers has emerged stronger, embodying dedication, commitment, and perseverance.
The Hopkins native enters the season as the country’s most efficient scoring guard and can pretty much do whatever’s needed on the court—making her one of the most talked-about picks in the upcoming 2025 WNBA draft. She has also achieved something rare: she's reached the Final Four in each eligible season, a feat only a select few can claim.
Now, she aims to make it a fourth time—and this time, she wants to end her decorated journey with a championship. The pursuit begins tomorrow. ✨
