Last year, the most impactful book I read was your Pagan America: The Decline of Christianity and the Dark Age to Come. It was deeply profound. You have become my go-to writer at The Federalist—thank you for your clear and compelling voice.

I have also written a book that addresses the issue of national and cultural suicide we are facing in both the United States and Europe, which I believe complements your work. Appreciate this, @albertmohler. I’ll add:

1. If you pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” you’re political.

2. If you believe that God’s Word is sufficient for all things pertaining to life and godliness, you’re political.

3. If you believe we’re called to love our neighbors as ourselves, you’re political.

4. If you believe we’re supposed to be salt and light in the world around us, you’re political.

5. If you believe that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Christ is Lord, you’re political.

6. If you believe that Christians are to work for the common good of all people, you’re political.

7. If you believe Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth, you’re political.

Staying out of the public square doesn’t make us more faithful, it just means someone else will shape the world our in which our children and neighbors live.

And culture is downstream from worship. We create cultures like the God or gods we worship, and today's culture of death reflects the atheism and materialism that have shaped it.

As you point out so well, churches may lead people to Christ and disciple them in the spiritual disciplines—but too often within a sacred-secular divide that withdraws the church from the marketplace and the public square. With young Christians flocking to our churches, we must pass on not that divide, but a biblical, unified vision for all of life: discipling nations—the Great Commission—at the level of culture.
