When I feel doubt because of #OCD, I remind myself to trust my senses and common sense. I understand that doubt is a manifestation of the disorder itself, rather than a reflection of who I am, which helps me stay grounded in the moment. #icbt

@dxdsxbd1059 Thank you for your response, and I apologise for the delayed reply. I see my #OCD as being in remission. If symptoms return, I have the therapy tools to maintain control. Trust your authentic self and recognise that OCD doubt isn’t rooted in reality.

When I had false memory #OCD, I thought I'd done something terrible. To ease my anxiety, I did compulsions, but the doubt remained. But after studying #ICBT, I realised the doubt was flawed from the start. I saw how compulsions weren't necessary, and over time, the doubt faded.

@cattyrah Thanks for your response. It was after reading a book on Inference-Based Cognitive Therapy by F. Aardema & K. O'connor. It helped me understand being in a state of inferential confusion and to trust my senses and common sense.

Recognising that an OCD possibility is not a factual probability helped me see that compulsions are unwarranted. Without compulsions, they stopped reinforcing the imagined threat, as though the chance of it happening was real. #OCD #icbt

When I realised my #OCD doubt was inherently wrong, I understood that my uncertainty about it was insignificant. This helped me see that resolving doubt through compulsions was unnecessary, as something terrible wouldn't logically happen from feeling uncertain. #ocddoubt #icbt
