In a courtyard tucked into misty peaks, a group of disciples moves together in slow, deliberate stances. They aren't preparing for a fight. They're learning to quiet the mind.
This is Wudang, the ancient home of Taoism in central China. Legend says a hermit named Zhang Sanfeng once dreamed here that the Jade Emperor revealed to him the secrets of the Tao. When Zhang awoke, he built a new kind of martial art, one resting on a radical idea: that yielding could overcome force, and softness could outlast strength.
For Zhang, the practice was never really about self-defense. It was about clearing the "weeds of the mind" — the cravings and vexations that cloud a calm heart.
That same spirit of discipline and stillness lives on in Shen Yun's dance Taoist Destiny. In it, a Taoist master trains his disciples deep in the Wudang Mountains. Read the full story of Wudang and its legendary founder: https://t.co/SnFJsNvPwt
