Stand with us to protect the future of Nashville Zoo.
A proposed 69,000-square-foot data center is planned next to the Zoo, but no environmental impact studies have been conducted. Sign our petition to help protect the animals in our care ➡️ https://t.co/q2ISQnxLBK
Henry Nowak was mortally wounded by a hostile foreigner, held down & arrested by White police because he was accused of racism by his own murderer, where he then bled out & died on the street.
This is an allegory for what is happening to European civilization on a global scale.
Trey Martin is an ironworker, union president and eighth-generation Oklahoman who knows Oklahoma and the people who make it work.
I’m confident @treyforoklahoma will be the kind of representative Oklahoma working families can count on.
“Race ya!”
A favorite memory of mine as an Animal Caregiver is running along side the enclosure with a tiger I cared for! It was a great form of enrichment (and exercise!) and built trust between keeper and animal!
Amazing art of this memory by @DDen009 🌿🐾
Dear artists...
If your clients give you references with heavy lighting or ambient lighting and you cant seem to get the right skin tone...
THROW FLESH CUBES AT THEM AND HAVE THEM PICK ONE.
I've been using these for years and I've never had anyone tell me I've gotten their skin tone wrong.
When in doubt skin cubes.
I have no idea if the artist who made these has an X but their username at the time these were posted to deviant art was Puppsicle.
The bird repeatedly attacking your window or car mirror is a male trying to defend his territory and family.
Northern Cardinals are the most common culprits, but American Robins, Northern Mockingbirds, Eastern Bluebirds, and Eastern Towhees do it too. The behavior peaks during breeding season when males are actively defending nesting territory.
The bird sees what looks like a rival in his territory, can't drive it off no matter how hard he attacks, and exhausts himself fighting an enemy that won't leave.
It can go on for weeks, and the consequences can be severe. The bird damages its beak, distracts itself from feeding chicks, and burns calories it should be using on its actual brood.
The fix is simple. Hang or tape something opaque on the outside surface: a sheet of paper, a piece of cardboard, opaque tape, a removable window film, or a rubbed-on layer of bar soap. Leave it up for 2-3 weeks while the bird establishes territory elsewhere.
Cardinals are a special case. They maintain year-round territories and can attack windows any season, not just spring. If a cardinal keeps doing it after you take the cover down, put it back up for another two weeks.
Car mirrors get the same treatment, drape a plastic bag or cloth over both side mirrors when the car is parked at home.
The bird is doing his job: defending his family. And you can't fault him for that. The kindest thing you can do is let him see something other than himself.
@Nsaw1G@frostiestofmen *Hugs back, tail wagging*
Thank you!
And thankfully, I'm past that. I just know not everyone is.
Still, it's always nice to see a friendly face. ^^
@frostiestofmen Also, for clarification, I don't think you fall into the useful idiot category. We have the far left serving as that cautionary tale.
I'm just out here looking for my tribe, but that can't happen without putting yourself out there. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
@DearlyRuralTTV@frostiestofmen Have some tact. Not everyone is going to toe the line. Who's the dogmatic one putting everyone to some absurd purity test today, anyways? Hint: it's not them.
Wishing you a moment of clarity, and I wish you well. 👍
