Overheard at a middle school wrestling match…

Little Girl: “Daddy! There’s a girl wrestling!”
Dad: “Yep.”
Little Girl: “I like watching the girls wrestle.”
Dad: “Good.”
Little Girl: “I might like to wrestle when I get to middle school.”

My son is on the school wrestling team for the first time this year. I knew nothing about wrestling before this school year (and very little more now). But here are some thoughts/observations...

(8/9) I *love* that there are girls on the teams. My son says nobody thinks twice about it. That's progress.
Watched a girl beat a boy in two rounds, and everyone had mad respect for the girl (a state champion) and the boy for lasting as long against her as he did.
