African Penguins also known as Jackass penguins, found along the Namibian and South African coast, are listed as endangered in the IUCN red list. They are expected to be extinct in the wild in 15 years, unless the decline in numbers can be halted.
An agreement has been reached at #COP15 summit to adopt the 30x30 target - protecting 30% of the world's land and ocean by 2030. This is a critical starting towards holistic protection for the ocean and all its resources.
