@math_chaurette It depends a lot on the software you started with. Moving from Maya to 3ds Max was pretty easy for me, but moving from Max/Maya to Blender was a literal nightmare.
Once you already established a workflow, changing can be very hard and time consuming.
@gleb_alexandrov Based on my experience with llms, thereβs a high chance this was 100% done with an llm. But it cost more money and take a lot more time than youβd expect.
@Maekar35ms@blknightwing you seem to have a very bad view of china, which is fair since they are notorious for copying others. But Nintendo can sue Hoyoverse out of China if they want, since Genshin is release worldwide, not China exclusive, and the fact that they did not sue says a lot
@MegatenSenshi@blknightwing I specified ""open world" gacha long run" for a reason, before Genshin, there's already open world games, gacha games, and long run online games, but no body combine the 3 element till genshin (to make the world biggest cash cow)
Xenoblade is a one time purchase game
@blknightwing btw i'm saying it's kinda original, not saying that it's a good thing
before genshin there was nothing like it, after genshin there's a million cash grab open world gacha game polutting the industry, just like how the open world plauge polutting triple A
@blknightwing They kinda invented the "open world" gacha long run gerne I guess. Even tho they did pull a lot of reference from other games, there was nothing like Genshin before it's release (at least of those that I know)
@Maekar35ms@blknightwing you forgot the "add anime style"π
as someone who has played both, i dont consider genshin a copy of botw. and if they did copy, Nintendo can always sue like how they sued Palworld
you can call it however you see it tho, not like I have to protect the millions dollar corps
@clovergirle 3D game artist here, that's almost the exact same 3D model, just with worst lightning and a different eyebrow shape
she look "korean" because the lightning make her face structure looks flatter, which can often be associate with asian face structure
@GranBlueCosmic@zeronisART You clearly have never been to Asian, at least in the recent year. There's AI generated billboard and ads everywhere.
I've seen multiple Asia sutdios posting Ai generated 3D asset and claim as their own
@our_ta_martin@henningsanden@HugoCGuerra also you dont just "move" in a few afternoon. took me months and some bucks on add on to be 80% of my speed in Max
also Blender lack quite a lot of stuff that pre exit in other software, studio now have to rebuild everything, which in my opinion, not worth it
@our_ta_martin@henningsanden@HugoCGuerra It's true that many people/smaller studios are moving to blender cus it's free, I moved to blender for the same reason. but moving to another software on larger scale is another story simply because a well established pipeline/ tool cost much much more than the license
@our_ta_martin@henningsanden@HugoCGuerra also i dont think people moving to blender has anything to do with the story. Blender is great, and I use it for my personal project outside of work, but it is not worth it for studio. why move to another program when you already have a well established pipeline in other program
@our_ta_martin@henningsanden@HugoCGuerra I dont say that skilled people dont watch tutorials, Im saying the lack of online tutorial is no big deal when the tutorial itself sit next to you.
