FOX made up a story of “Veterans kicked out of hotel to make room for migrants” while simultaneously supporting MAGA debt budget which cuts Veterans benefits by 22%
They’re more outraged over a fake story about evil brown migrants than the real story of evil greedy billionaires
FYI, reporters:
Around 3,000+ contractor employees of Twitter were canned last night (totally normal thing to do, btw). How does Twitter have so many contractors? This is where the CONTENT MODERATOR numbers are hidden. They are called “agents” at Twitter.
I’m thinking about how a mom ran in and got her own kid, even after being handcuffed. I’m thinking about how the subway shooter was found by ordinary people. I’m thinking about how every dollar we give cops takes money from communities and gives it to guys who don’t protect us.
Folks are talking about police a bunch, and that's something I might actually be able to provide context for.
Police are never, and will never be, required to endanger themselves in any way for any reason. This has been litigated thoroughly.
The Parkland Cops ran away. The Buffalo Cop was killed instantly. The 3 Cops at Uvalde were overpowered, then waited 40 min to enter the school.
Veteran Cops repeatedly failed—but we’re supposed to expect Lunch Lady Doris & School Nurse Betty to stop a terrorist with an AR-15.😑
If cops shoot unarmed people because they fear for their life, but also don’t stop armed shooters because they fear for their life, why are we giving them millions of dollars??
It turns out that you don't have to wait until Halloween! Any night of the year you can knock on a stranger's door and demand a treat under threat of a trick! They just won't react well at all!
Is Ukraine an ideal country without racism?
No.
Does the Ukrainian far-right have political prospects?
No.
Is Russia an ideal country without racism as they imply?
No.
Does the Russian far-right have political prospects?
It already is a fascist state.
the eternal tension between wanting to travel, learn a new language, explore the world’s foods and cultures, and also stay at home with a book in my lap and doze off beside a rainy window
Just a reminder that Harvey Weinstein and Roman Polanski never had their Oscars rescinded, John Wayne was never expelled, and the Academy never apologized to Hattie McDaniel.
Just in case anyone was looking at the Academy as some moral beacon.
I am generally immune to the appeal of April Fools' Day. But it does seem like a fine day to put all my tiny absurdities on sale.

Maybe it's bc I'm working on the consent culture workbook, but I'm absolutely seeing a shitty trend.
Someone can bully and jab at another, repeatedly, for years, and everyone will enable it, but when that person (or someone on their behalf) *finally* snaps, they're the bad guy.
@californiabarby That's sadly a recurring thing for companies to do. Like in the Radium Girls book, the companies that had those unsafe work conditions just hid behind company shells and the people responsible rarely had to deal with consequences.
