In Kitakyushu, Japan, a Muslim woman from Afghanistan submitted a petition to the city council saying that her daughter and nephew cannot eat pork or pork extract in school lunch because Islam considers it haram.

The woman said they pay the full school lunch fee, but because of pork the children do not eat and go hungry. If separate food can be made for children with allergies, then why not for us Muslims?

It is a good thing the city council did not approve it.

First of all, allergy and religion are not the same. Allergy is a physical illness. If the child eats it, it can harm the body, so the school makes a separate arrangement.

A 7-year-old girl was riding her bike when a stranger suddenly grabbed her and forced her into his car.

Her aunt, Alecia Swejkoski, saw what happened and immediately ran after them.

She threw herself through the driver's window and fóûght the man while her niece was still trapped inside. Even after being pûnchéd and dragged around as he tried to escape, Alecia refused to let go.

Then another driver, Scott Van Luven, saw the struggle.
