I am the only daughter of Kim Il-hoon, the founder of bamboo salt,
and the representative of OCKSUJUNG Bamboo Salt.
My father once said during his lifetime:
“The salt from the west coast comes from the Pacific Ocean, so its resources are inexhaustible.
That is why I use it to save lives in times of crisis.
I know in detail all the secrets within salt, so I say that if the harmful elements are treated with high heat and properly used, it can be beneficial to the human body.
If salt is processed using materials that pollution cannot penetrate—such as bamboo, pine wood, pine resin, yellow earth, and the strength of iron containers—what kind of compounds will emerge?
Even if we can save just one out of ten people dying in this polluted world, that is still saving a life.
We could save them all, but if we spend time cutting, examining, and taking pictures until the moment of death comes, then no matter how good the medicine is, it becomes difficult for it to be effective.
The secrets of bamboo salt are endless. There is nothing I have experimented with that did not work.
If something does not work, it is only because the method was insufficient.”
These are the exact words delivered by my grandfather in a public lecture on August 31, 1989.
Following this spirit,
I have walked this path to find a way to save lives amid the many toxins of the modern world.
This year marks 30 years since that purpose was established,
and we are now at the point where one of the results of this journey is about to be revealed.
