@FatherAdamNowak I attempt to fulfill the penance I prescribe in confession. Keeps me from being too taxing on penitents and reminds me that I am also in need of penance, a deepening in my relationship with God.

It warms a pastor’s heart when two brothers, 7&9, bike to weekday Mass just so they can serve the altar. They could be doing anything else on a summer’s day, and yet the Sacrifice of the Mass is where their desire is. Their parents are raising Saints!

@fidelispatre In my twenties I made the conscious decision to allow nothing, other than my own sin, to deter me from attending Mass and receiving Eucharist. As long as the Eucharist is valid, nothing else matters. As a broken priest, I encourage others to do the same.
