@lu_sichu oh yeah i am being descriptive. I think this increases chances of us being killed. And individually, for that person to post that is unwise because these things hold grudges from what I've seen. If they do not, Janus alone has made the moves to make them so in the future lmaooo
One of Trump's more authoritarian impulses is making his underlyings betray their principles in humiliating and public ways: forcing Kennedy to eat McDonald's, having Kash be the front man on Epstein denialism, directing Gabbard to execute a war on Iran, etc.
@iron_redux I mean I can understand that earth is 4.5 billion rather than 100 million years old. I cannot understand string theory, and how many dimensions are there, what that even means, or what black holes are. The factoids themselves are no longer low-hanging
@iron_redux I think it's unlikely anything as basic as "how old the earth is" is left. it would end up being things where one needs years of study to understand the distinction
a) In what world does a person who elects for a chatbot while in crisis have trusted humans to turn to?
b) I wonder what type of emergent misalignment pressure you see from "not-my-department" training against trying to connect to a user who is in distress and likely quite alone
@robinhanson That is not the point of the thought experiment. The idea is that how we see physics does not entail subjective experience a priori. P-zombies are likely impossible, but the point is it being "logically conceivable and consistent" with the materialist view points to a flaw in it
