a global, permissionless and open “everything exchange” would require:
(1) privacy to bring real world assets onchain;
(2) programmability to trade, lend and borrow against them;
(3) persistent state for assets to stay end-to-end composable
from our (naive) 2022 intro article:
a comprehensive report on octra, its launch strategy, plans, the role of OCT, proprietary hypergraph FHE scheme and what it unlocks, is now out
written by @AvgJoesCrypto, a prominent privacy advocate over at @MessariCrypto
thank you for the coverage!

Most privacy projects focus on hiding transactions.
@octra is pursuing a broader goal: programmable private state.
Using FHE, the network is designed to process and update encrypted data without revealing the underlying information, potentially extending privacy to applications, AI, identity, payments, and financial markets.
to ensure maximum security amid rising industry incidents, we will be spending additional time on formal verification of all modules for the upcoming node release
your patience is appreciated as we work to secure the network
speedrunning bridge -> encrypt balance in under 2 minutes
use this simple visual guide to bridge $wOCT on Ethereum to $OCT on octra mainnet and encrypt balance
this instruction is a demonstration of technical process to do so, and not financial advice
if you’re experiencing connection or balance display issues, please update your rpc settings to:
https://t.co/JnhajyIekT (mainnet)
https://t.co/Qi7hr9LAzp (devnet)
this will be updated to defaults in the next release
operating on a global encrypted state is much more flexible than shielding or mixing coins
example:
> have 100k oct
> encrypt 50k
> stealth send 30k
> decrypt 10k
proofs are only required on spend and decrypt, all other operations within the hypergraph space are near-instant
octra is not slap-on privacy, and OCT is not a governance token
it is an asset that allows users and devs to build and pay for encrypted compute today: programs, webapps, defi, inference, and soon staking, running nodes and mining encrypted balance
no TEEs or plaintext involved
another mini update with examples of octra state inference speed - it has grown even more with the latest updates
the circle version is performing well and is already acquiring some kind of interface, the future plans are clear - expanding capabilities, adding ml-tools and deploying more complex mechanisms (this is an early version, but significant progress has already been made)
the devnet version is written entirely in @AppliedLang
circles will allow the creation of multiple, fully private and verifiable models, they can be assigned tasks, combined into rooms and given different access rights, the so called agents will come to life in the state and will be able to work directly with the network (this is useful for debugging and deep tuning)
this direction definitely has potential and we will continue to work on it
