Johannesburg mayoral hopeful Helen Zille faced harsh criticism on Wednesday night when a pro-Palestine supporter confronted her, labelling the DA a racist organisation. Zille, however, dealt with the confrontation, saying that robust discussion was vital. The fracas happened after Zille addressed Ward 66 residents as part of her campaign tour at the Kensington Club. When News24 arrived at the club, pro-Palestine supporters from the Kensington Palestine Solidarity Group were protesting the meeting. Despite interruptions, Zille defended her focus on South Africa’s challenges, emphasising the country’s unique project of uniting diverse groups and fostering coexistence.
America forcing Tik Tok to be American owned is a national security exercise but South Africa forcing Starlink to be South African owned is backwards.
Make it make sense
You’re a blatant liar. That’s exactly why this platform has become so distasteful. You acquired it on the promise of tackling misinformation, yet you’ve become one of its biggest sources. There are over 500 American companies operating in South Africa, many of them led by white executives. This isn’t about facts, it’s about smearing South Africa for your own benefit.
