Oil producing nations that have free education:

1. Norway.
2. Saudi Arabia.
3. UAE.
4. Kuwait.

Oil producing nations with heavily subsidised education:

1. Malaysia (~90% subsidised)
2. Brazil (subsidised for low income households)
3. Denmark (~85%)
4. Kazakhstan (~87%)
5. Russia
6. Azerbaijan (even subsidises the cost of foreign education for her citizens)
7. Algeria.
8. Iraq.

All oil producing countries. All funding education for her citizens at one capacity or the other.

But you have another Oil producing country headed by clueless leaders who deem it fit to tax those they should be relieving under the guise of "education." And there are fools defending this!

If Nigeria really wants to kill the fake drink market, the solution cannot be only raids, arrests and destroying fake products after they have already reached consumers.

Control the supply chain.

Manufacturer → authorised distributor → registered wholesaler → verified retailer → consumer.

Every legitimate drink should have a traceable route into the market. Every retailer should know exactly who they are buying from, and every distributor should know exactly where their products are going.

The problem is that there are too many uncontrolled supply points.

When a retailer can buy drinks from almost anyone offering a cheaper price, you create thousands of opportunities for counterfeit products to enter the market.

But if the supply chain is controlled, you can still have thousands of shops selling drinks while keeping the actual sources of supply limited, registered and traceable.

If a fake product is found in a shop, NAFDAC shouldn’t have to start investigating from scratch. They should be able to trace where that product came from, who supplied it, where else that batch went and who else is involved.

I woke up thinking about how fucked up things could be in the next Nigerian elections. First, you have to battle thugs and compromised law enforcement at polling units; then you have to battle INEC. Even if you prevail over both, then you will meet “judges with big houses.” NGMI if you lose to one of them.

This is why the politicians are stealing so much. The OS of Nigeria right now is graft. How can things work out well when this is the underlying system?

Hope is not a strategy, but the opposition is largely powered by hope, while the ruling party is powered by graft and bad incentives. Something has to give. We have to find their weakest point and exploit it to survive.

If you match propaganda for propaganda, bribe for bribe, violence for violence, you will become them. It has to be something else. We have to do mass education and community support. Bigotry has to be countered with truth and generosity.

Instead of letting them use the poor, let's help the poor realize that they are better than tools of the greedy. The revolution can only start from the bottom and not the top. I don't see these boys as the enemy anymore; I see them as tools of our liberation. Those celebrities they worship may also be key to this. They have more power than the politicians realize.

The liberation of Nigeria will come from the streets. The streets are military.

These are what democracy finds difficult to do in Africa, but Captain Ibrahim is doing it effortlessly in Burkina Faso.

Under Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s Presidential Health Initiative, the Burkinabè Army deployed a fully equipped mobile field hospital into rural communities where many people struggle to access healthcare.

In just over a week, military doctors reportedly treated more than 2,000 people and performed 38 life-saving surgeries, including complex hip replacements, all free of charge.

The entire hospital was set up and operational in less than 72 hours, with military engineers now aiming to deploy field hospitals anywhere in the country within 24 hours.
