With all due respect to Naz Reid, Malik Monk rightfully deserved to win the Sixth Man of the Year award for the following reasons:

- Monk played 72 games this season (all of them being off the bench), while Reid played 81 games this season while starting in 14 of them, meaning he played 67 games as a 6th man this season.

- Monk averaged 15.4 PPG and 5.1 APG on 44.3% FG shooting. Reid averaged 13.5 PPG and 5.2 RPG on 47.7% FG shooting.

- Monk had 25, 20 + PT games all while coming off the bench, while Reid had 13, 20 + PT games this season.

-Monk was the 2nd-3rd offensive option for his team this season, while Reid served as the Timberwolves 4th-5th offensive option this season.

- Two of the voters completely omitted Monk from their ballots pushing Reid to get the 6MOY honor.

With respect to Naz Reid, Malik Monk is the rightful 6MOY.
