The people of ISINGIRO braved so much intimidation to give us such a resounding reception. Many times, we have tried to access Isingiro because we know how much these people support change. Unfortunately, we have always been blocked. This time around, they intimidated the owner of the venue where we were supposed to meet. By doing so, they thought people would keep away. But when our people heard that we had booked a radio program, they tuned in to receive our message and many of them waited the whole day to receive us and show solidarity.

From the conversations with the people of Isingiro and listening in to those who called on the radio, their biggest desire is to have a vote. Even when vote rigging takes place everywhere in Uganda, it is much worse in districts like Isingiro. Gen. Museveni's apologists completely took away their right to vote. This is a place where by 8:00am on voting day, the regime operatives have already ticked the ballots in favor of Museveni. This is the place where people were told they could only vote for MPs and not the President. This is a place where our people feel very suffocated and subjugated by the system. I believe our presence in Isingiro today will be the beginning of the freedom of these people.

Sudi Denies Reports of Ksh 20 Million Donation

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has denied reports that he personally donated Ksh 20 million during a church function.

Addressing criticism from Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, he clarified that the total contribution from all attendees amounted to Ksh 20 million and insisted it was not a single donation from him.
