With $PUP occupying such huge mindshare, it is important for the team to be responsible in taking appropriate moves to protect and build trust with token holders. $PUP token was originally dropped as an experimental token to reward early users. It has however gone on to become one of the largest market cap tokens on HyperEVM and Hyperliquid core.

The original intention was to have 2 seasons of airdrops where users can gain 50% token allocation, with an additional 30% allocation in a second airdrop. Today, that 30% (300mil token) allocation is worth ~$52mil USD. A secondary airdrop will heavily dilute true $PUP believers.

As such, the team will commit to burning 290mil $PUP tokens, with 10mil tokens to be airdropped. The airdrop allocation is as such:
- 80% to $PUP holders: To continue to thank everyone for your continued support
- 20% to Based XP holders: We wish to welcome new $PUP holders to our ranks, and grow a larger, more cohesive PUP community

This airdrop event will happen after Upheaval's TGE (dates TBC)

As summary, this is the updated $PUP tokenomics:
- 500mil $PUP tokens distributed in initial airdrop
- 10mil $PUP tokens to be distributed in second airdrop
- 290mil $PUP tokens to be burnt
- 12mil $PUP tokens locked in Hyperliquidity
- 119mil $PUP tokens locked in V3 LP
- 69mil $PUP tokens left (A $PUP governance vote will be held in future to determine what to do with this)

This is the biggest token burn on HyperEVM, with a value of ~$50mil USD🔥. We hope that this is a welcome change, and that new $PUP holders can join us with an ease of mind in knowing that a potential supply overhang is removed.
