Actor John Leguizamo has repeatedly criticised Hollywood for casting white actors as Latino historical figures and characters.

Yet he'll be appearing in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, a film that hasn't cast a single Greek actor in a major role and casts Helen of Troy as a woman of Sub-Saharan African ancestry. Troy was a real historical city, and the available historical and archaeological evidence does not support the idea that its population was predominantly of Sub-Saharan African origin.

It's an interesting contrast between the standards Leguizamo has argued for in some contexts and the project he's chosen to be part of here. But hey, it's not like woke Hollywood is allergic to compulsive hypocrisy, right?
