#Voces | Las confesiones de más de 20 exmilitares ante la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz (JEP) permitieron reconstruir el asesinato de Alexander Quintero Figueroa, un jornalero de 28 años y padre de cinco hijos, ejecutado en diciembre de 2006 por integrantes del Batallón de Infantería N.° 21 Batalla Pantano de Vargas, en el Meta.

Según los testimonios conocidos por la JEP, Quintero fue engañado en Granada por un informante vinculado al batallón. Posteriormente, militares vestidos de civil lo redujeron, lo amordazaron y lo trasladaron en el baúl de un taxi hasta entregarlo al pelotón ‘Astuto 3’. Allí fue asesinado y posteriormente presentado como un guerrillero abatido en combate.

Uno de los episodios más graves ocurrió durante el traslado. Una patrulla de la Policía habría encontrado a Quintero amordazado dentro del vehículo durante un retén. Sin embargo, según las declaraciones conocidas ante la JEP, el recorrido continuó después de una comunicación con un comandante militar.

La familia descubrió la falsedad del reporte cuando Jhon Quintero, hermano de Alexander y entonces cabo tercero del Ejército, ingresó a la sección de inteligencia del batallón para revisar el reporte operacional. Allí reconoció en las fotografías el cuerpo de su propio hermano, presentado con prendas militares y armamento para simular una baja en combate. La familia logró recuperar el cadáver antes de que fuera sepultado como NN.
