Thought I'd make a pinned thread of all my transit timelines for any newcomers and to just to keep it all in one place!

I made a TTC construction timeline! We're all familiar with those "evolution of the TTC map" videos, but I always wondered how long each project took, from construction starting to opening, instead of just a timeline of opening dates.
Below will be a thread of takeaways:
@EmilyFarina5 Also the area is anchored by a subway station (south access to Toronto): has VIVA Orange BRT (east-west) and a future Jane Street BRT (north to wonderland/Cortellucci hospital), and already has frequent + express YRT service.

@EmilyFarina5 Also a decent parks masterplan. VMC is still a work in progress and needs a decade or too to reach it's full potential. In the mean time I agree it's very lacking.

@Ramsey_Kilani Not only did he vote against it but he successfully amended it to add a clause that the city could cancel it at any time. See thread for full explanation.

Now for the bad news, it was amended by Councillor Bradford to include an βescape hatchβ to cancel the pilot early if there are βunacceptable impacts.β (3/9)

π²π𧑠7,000,000 rides. What an incredible year it's been so far.
To celebrate our 7 millionth ride of 2026, we surprised Lucas with a Bike Share Toronto membership at Jarvis & Carlton.
Why there? Because Jarvis & Carlton is where it all began. It's home to the very first Bike Share Toronto station.
That milestone got us reflecting on the journey. Since launching in 2011, Bike Share Toronto has grown into a network of 1,074 stations and 11,890 bikes across the city. Today, riders use Bike Share Toronto to commute, connect with their communities, and explore the city, with Centre Island Station now the busiest station in the entire network.
This milestone belongs to every rider who's been part of the journey over the last 15 years.
Thank you for riding with us. Here's to the next million. Keep riding. π²

@TorontoHydro@311Toronto not sure if the lights are broken, but would it be possible to keep the lights on even during the day time on the sidewalks under the GO rail track bridge on Carlaw near Gerrard? The lights for the cars under the bridge are kept on.
@311Toronto@TorontoHydro street lights broken on the north side of Bloor St E (westbound lane) across the Prince Edward Viaduct, near the western section of the bridge.
In Toronto, more people are killed and injured by vehicles than from violent crimes. Anyone who claims to be a champion of safety, but who isn't advocating for safer roads, is just fear mongering or dog whistling.
@2000poundcon@ProjectEND@Gabe_Blanc Just one more tax cut bro please bro I swear prosperity is around the corner bro come on bro the next tax cut will be the tax cut that does it bro come on bro
@ch_lagace@SafeStreetsTO People have been protesting since last week! And with the bike lane closed right now, there is no choice but to ride in the traffic lane anyways!

@PeterBi11047025@SafeStreetsTO Bike lanes make the street safer for everbody, not just cyclists. Bike lanes narrow the street meaning less speeding, less conflict points, and a buffer between drivers and pedestrians. This lowers the chance of accidents and when they do happen, are less lethal.
