A little secret for building tight teams.
I often get asked about what’s the best way to build tight/strong teams. So, here is a little counter-intuitive “secret” on how to do that.
It’s not fancy team building dinners, outings, etc.
It’s not the coaching exercises, mentors or magical shrinks.
It’s not the rah rah speeches of inspirational leaders.
All of the above helps but fades over time, but the secret is just … some external pressure.
Imagine if there are aliens “visiting” Earth now, all the issues between the US and China would disappear in a heartbeat. Make sense?
In the movie Blackhawk Down, when an old soldier was asked why he risked his life in battles all the time, his answer was (roughly): it’s not the glory or heroism, those things go out of the window as soon as that first bullet flies by your head; it’s just about … the men next to you.
While I am not suggesting the pressure needs to be life-threatening, fighting in the trenches together is the best way to build tight teams. It builds reliance, alliance, resilience and most importantly trust between the team members.
I believe this is the one of the big reasons @Binance has such a tight team. We have always had external pressure, FUD, etc. As a result, we are constantly in the trenches together. It also unites our community behind us, making them/you support us even more. This in turn makes us more determined to drive towards our mission, to increase the freedom of money for people all around the world.
And, it’s worth noting that while pressure creates tight teams internally, I’m equally focused on the collaboration and cooperation that creates trust externally.

3) “The rejection is often not because of the reasons you think they are rejecting you.”
