We support proper consultation and collaboration between WAEC and the Ministry of education to ensure proper and safe scheduling of exam papers, taking COVID 19 into consideration. We trust the judgement of the HME to do the needful to promote education in Nigeria.

Outright cancellation of the exams in 2020 might put the educational careers of the students in jeopardy. More so, most of them wrote the UTME while awaiting to write WAEC and NECO and secure admission to tertiary institutions with the results.

However, our stand on this still remains as we have earlier posited. The terminal exams can and should be conducted in the midst of tight safety measures and strict protocols as put in place in other sectors of the economy that have since began operations.

In the face of the recent pronouncement by the Honorable Minister for Education that WAEC will no longer start on the 4th of August, as against the earlier briefing by the Minister of State, ATSO wishes to first commend the concern of the HME for the safety of Nigerian students.

All centers must be ready to comply fully with government directives and NCDC protocols at short notice once the lockdown on schools and academic centers is fully lifted.

All centers are to remain closed for now & zonal chairmen are to continue monitoring strict compliance.

@JAMBHQ Data collection is a sine qua non for developmental projections. So, NIN for secondary school leavers is a step in the right direction. The registration period for UTME2020 should however be long enough to ensure every prospective candidate is captured for NIN & register for UTME
