As far as we understand, the guy who engaged the mass shooter in Idaho was running an FN Five-seveN with an Axiom suppressor and seemingly trains or at least dabbles with Center Axis Relock.

This is the kind of guy a lot of you would’ve made fun of if his training videos were circulating a week ago.

Maybe the better takeaway is that instead of the constant optimization fetishization that gets pushed, we should accept that once your gear is inside a reasonable performance envelope, the practical application of skill under pressure is what actually matters.

Something that really pisses people off about boomers is that they have this untouchable chad resource mog

If young people complain to them about anything, they don't understand at all. They will respond in a way that demonstrates they are completely detached from modern reality

The young person can try for hours to convince the boomer that this will no longer work due to structural changes to the fabric of social interaction, but none of it matters to the boomer

It all runs off them like water

They don't care - they have a wife and four kids and a house and 4 milly in the bank from their 35 years working as a lawnmower salesman

And the young person generally has nothing.

Arguing under these conditions is maximally tilting, because even if the young person is completely correct, it will often cause them to feel like a turbo loser

I wouldn't be surprised if eventually this tilted young people out so hard they just decided to take everything tbh

The problem with this is that it’s not some kind of mystery who is committing most of the crime in the United States. This is the most basic, boring, indisputable fact about criminal justice in America. You don’t know anything about crime in America if you don’t know this. You don’t know anything about American social relations, suburbanization, racial polarization. You don’t know anything about American history. You don’t know anything about what’s motivating where people live, where they work, how they perceive cities. You don’t understand the US housing market, what motivates a large share of NIMBYism.

You can’t not know this and be a serious person.

And of course Hunter does know it. He’s just a member of a social movement that’s committed to obfuscating on this point.

It’s not serious. It’s not honest. And it’s a real blocker to the “real conversation conversations about race” these people are always insisting we’ve never had.
