@paulg@paulg I would mostly agree with you but there are expectations. When I was at Google’s incubator Area 120 about 5 years ago my internal startup successfully sold to a Fortune 20 company, and later to other larger enterprises using the same formula.

As realtime speech-to-speech AI solutions mature, including Accent AI, Grammar AI and Translation AI, the cost of human voice support will be going down quickly. This will add millions of voice call jobs across the world, especially in low cost markets bringing the cost of human support down to levels we've never seen.
Call Center industry is so DONE.
The official @OpenAI Real-time Pricing is $0.06 per minute of audio input and $0.24 per minute of audio output.
So the average cost of 5 minutes call with the Real Time API is $0.75, that’s $9 / hour.
And the average call center Human agent salary in the USA, is $31,200 per year or $15 per hour.
And of course AI model pricing will go down exponentially over the coming years, which has indeed been the trend over the last 3 years.
