@JungleCarbine@SlumRNA_Dog More than that but that's not the point. What would it have cost to pay a third party if your wife wasn't available to do it?
@JungleCarbine@SlumRNA_Dog What I'm seeing here is someone not valuing his wife's time and effort. He thinks it was "free money" but anything gleaned from her efforts at "sorting & selling" are her earnings.
@JungleCarbine@SlumRNA_Dog If people tracked their actual time spent "sorting & selling" plus travel time, gas, boxes, tape, markers, cleaning supplies, the extra month or two of storage unit rental or delay in selling the house, they would realize that paying $1500 to have someone else do it is a bargain.
@DHastings94287@davepl1968 No one thought shuttle launches were routine in 1986. ๐ There had been 24 but no one could have told you that. This was pre-internet. Very few people had access to witness launches at all unless network television and terrestrial radio were carrying it.
@Mohave_Rain@AlsaceOf@RickPalaciosJr The Prop 19/former Prop 58 benefit applies to lifetime transfers as well as transfers at death. But if there is a parent-child transfer during life, the child loses the stepped-up basis and takes the property with their parents' cost basis, i.e. all of the capital gains.
@NightGuardian34@WhiteHouse@IsraeliPM Praying for Netanyahu and Trump to die peacefully in their sleep because that's the only thing that will give peace a chance.
@acathleen5@thescif It wasn't the socialism, it was the shift to an authoritarian govt followed by the crash in oil prices. This sounds an awful lot like the Trump Administration...
@rjcjr13@OctopusIllusion@jonfavs Not your struggling little parish in your neighborhood, but the underlying non-profit entity it belongs to certainly does. Why would churches even exist, if not to make someone wealthy? You don't need a church to practice religion or believe in your god, or follow its teachings.
@johnbfranklin If homeless people had millions of dollars, they'd have homes. Homeless people are not spending millions on drugs. That math ain't mathing.
@johnbfranklin You don't have enough places that offer services for substance abuse and mental illness. And conservatorship is not the solution to either of these problems. You could conserve every affected person tomorrow and you couldn't do a damned thing with them. No housing. No rehabs.
@flyonthewallpod@marcmaron@danacarvey@DavidSpade Tried to listen, bailed about 20 mins in. Carvey and Spade are boring, repetitive, and apparently think snark and sarcasm are intelligent commentary. Was initially excited to discover another podcast featuring stand-ups but it's gonna be a hard pass from me, fellas.
@spatton78@bullriders1@howellsacto@atrupar Jesus H. Christ. Take a minute and learn something about the geography and the biology and the climate of the area you're pretending you know anything about. I'm so sick of people who don't live here pretending they know why the fires were so terrible. Stupid f*kers talking shit.
