My brother, Sydney Gongodyo, this was us 3 days ago celebrating your son's first birthday.
The heart breaking news of your passing hit really hard.
May Your Soul Rest in Eternal Peace

In a conversation with the Pirates Coach, he shares that Sydney Gongodyo died on the same day as the great Jerry Collins.
The greats really do pick themselves. 🕊
A disturbing video has emerged clearly showing the brutal mob attack that claimed the life of talented rugby star Sydney Gongodyo.
In the footage, the 27-year-old Uganda Rugby Cranes and Stanbic Black Pirates player is seen on the ground in Upper Naguru, pleading his innocence while being kicked and beaten by a crowd accusing him of snatching a handbag. He never stood a chance.
I am relieved that @PoliceUg has already arrested three suspects; Ssebagala Noordin, Ayebazibwe Roden, and Namukose Juliet.
No one has the right to take the law into their own hands. Mob justice is barbaric, often based on mistaken identity, and it destroys lives and families. It has no place in our society. Let the courts deliver real justice. “Afande @mkituuma should continue to remind our people on this”.
Sydney was a dedicated athlete, a Makerere University student, and a young man full of promise. His death is a painful loss for the rugby fraternity and the entire nation.
May his family find strength, and may this tragedy spark real change.
Rest in Peace, Sydney Gongodyo. 🕊️
Moses Olweny, former team mate to the late Stanbic Black Pirates player Sydney Gongodyo weeps during the moment of silence held at Makerere Rugby Grounds in Kampala, Uganda.
Me checking my X DMs expecting jersey orders from customers…
Then I open a message and it’s someone asking for suusu 😭
Not even a “hello”, not even a greeting straight to begging for suusu 😢
It even hurts more wen u think about it how none of these heartless mob knew the deceased!
We need to do more PR for our sports players!
Rest well Sydney!
