Why is everyone saying we’re misinterpreting Belmont’s interview when we’re literally reading what he textually said??? You guys are the ones misinterpreting what WE said 😭😭 I literally used his same exact sentences.

Yes, I added what he meant, what he feels, what he wants, what he doesn’t want, what career he’ll pursue and what he’s internally struggling with. But the quotation marks are accurate.

Maybe you guys don’t like what I said Belmont said, but that doesn’t make what Belmont said I said he said less true.

You CANNOT add meaning to Belmont’s words that he didn’t explicitly say just because it fits your narrative.

The movie is about a man channeling his anger through wrestling. I’m 100% sure Bel and Ella talked about this project and had the most beautiful, deep conversations about it since Belmont experienced something similar himself.

He now has to be conscious of that. He is using the visibility, support and momentum created by this fandom to reach the career opportunities he wants. Good for him! But this is a two-way street. Fans invested their time, emotions and support into Garrett, and Belmont benefited from that investment. You cannot take the visibility and opportunities and then act like the investors don’t deserve a return.

Nobody is saying we own Belmont.We simply expect promotion, interviews, engagement and, most importantly, ELLA CONTENT. Hug Ella. Touch Ella. Sit unnecessarily close to Ella. Stare at Ella for slightly too long. Laugh at everything Ella says. Find reasons to have your hands on Ella. Look at her like Garrett is still possessing your body. Give us one photo that requires a 46-tweet body-language analysis.

A little touching. A little chemistry. A little inappropriate behavior even though you have a "girlfriend". SOMETHING. Is that really too much to ask??? Nobody is asking Belmont to perform a relationship with Ella. We just need him to convincingly behave like he might be in one. That’s not entitlement.

Belmont did not create this fandom. Garrett existed first. The fans existed first. Garrett and Hannah existed first. So when Belmont accepted that role, he accepted certain responsibilities. Fan service (BEING OBSESSED WITH ELLA). Lead couple promotion. Interviews. Public engagement. SELLING THE COUPLE. I will die on this hill

Was that in his contract? I don’t know. Did Belmont agree to my specific expectations? No.

But he knew what kind of show this was. Nobody is entitled to Belmont. He simply owed us more access to Belmont. More Ella. More touching Ella. More hugging Ella. More flirting with Ella. More staring at Ella like he wants her. More moments where we can pretend Garrett and Hannah continue after the cameras stop.

I’m not asking Belmont to choose Ella over his "girlfriend" the commitment( I AM). I’m just saying he could’ve committed to the role. This is NOT entitlement. This is me being furious that a grown man refused to participate in the parasocial relationship I assigned him.

If you’re expecting fan service (with him being all over Ella, touching Ella, smelling Ella, talking about Ella at every interview, commenting and liking all of her posts, being obsessed with Ella, leaving his "girlfriend" the commitment for Ella), interviews, talk shows, magazine covers, autographs, promotion or literally any of the things I’ve been complaining for months that Belmont doesn’t do enough of, STOP EXPECTING IT.

I have accepted that he doesn’t want to perform celebrity for us. I’m completely fine with this. That’s why I’ve written 14 increasingly irritated tweets about it.
