His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama met with the leadership of the 17th Kashag and the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile at his residence in Dharamshala earlier today.

Sikyong Penpa Tsering convenes the first meeting of the 17th Kashag Cabinet at the Kashag Secretariat today.
The meeting is attended by Kalon (Minister) Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi (Department of Religion and Culture), Kalon (Minister) Palden Dhondup (Department of Home), Kalon (Minister) Tsering Dhondup (Department of Finance), Kalon (Minister) Urgen Tenzin (Department of Education), Kalon (Minister) Kunga Tashi (Department of Security) and Kalon (Minister) Pema Tso (Department of Health).
Political Secretary Shadrong Tashi Gyatso and Additional Secretary Lhakpa Dolma of the Kashag Secretariat are also present.

On 3 June 2026, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was formally presented with the Grammy Award at his residence in Dharamsala by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, accompanied by Amaan Ali Bangash, Ayaan Ali Bangash, and Kabir Gill Sehgal. The award was conferred in the Best Audiobook, Narration & Storytelling Recording category for the album Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama—a distinctive collaboration that combines His Holiness’ reflections on compassion, peace, and the oneness of humanity with the rich traditions of Indian classical music.

The Grammy Award won by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama for the album Meditations: The Reflections of His Holiness the Dalai Lama will be formally presented to His Holiness at his residence in Dharamsala on 3 June 2026.
The award-winning album is a collaboration between His Holiness the Dalai Lama and renowned sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, along with his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash. The album combines His Holiness’ reflections on compassion, peace, mindfulness, and the oneness of humanity with Indian classical music.
Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, accompanied by Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, will present the Grammy Award to His Holiness at 9:30 am.
The collaboration highlights the power of music, wisdom, and compassion in fostering inner peace and understanding across the world.
During an audience with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, a visitor from abroad asked, “What is the meaning of life?”
In response, His Holiness explained that life is not without purpose and that the most important thing is to dedicate oneself to serving humanity and helping others.
“The essence of life is to benefit others,” His Holiness said, adding that a life spent in service to others is a life well lived and not wasted.
His Holiness further noted that all major religious traditions teach the importance of compassion, kindness, and working for the welfare of others.

The 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile (TPIE) convened its First Session today at the Parliament House, presided over by Speaker Dolma Tsering Teykhang and attended by Sikyong Penpa Tsering alongside fellow members of the 18th TPIE.
