Back in 2022, after my video about my ordeal at the hands of the EFCC went viral, someone in law enforcement called me and said, "This thing you're doing will get you in trouble o. Why not do what every other person is doing? You can make comedy or find a way to entertain people. Must you talk about the government? These people are powerful o."
Nigerians, we need to remind these people that we are powerful. We are running out of time.
I was watching Jarvis defend her man, Peller and when she said, “Your President, did he go to school?”, I just shook my head in pain.
That we have a President with a questionable educational background is part of the reason we have this Olodo uprising.
Bloggers too, you’re the major amplifiers of the Olodo Culture on the internet. You amplify foolish content for engagement. You thrive on misinformation and misrepresentation. Do better.
This is deeply troubling.
When those in power begin to use the courts to shrink the democratic space rather than expand it, every Nigerian should be concerned. Democracy only works when citizens have genuine choices, not when one party appears determined to run unopposed.
The APC should have enough confidence in its popularity (as it claims to have) to face opponents at the polls instead of weaponizing the judiciary against the opposition.
Nigerians deserves free, fair and genuinely competitive elections. And this continuous abuse of our institutions for partisan advantage will erode public trust and put our democracy at risk.
A nation that popularized “education is a scam” is mad that someone talked about olodo uprising. Bro look at the governor of Edo state and see the type of rubbish this decaying society rewards
There’s a certain happiness many uneducated Nigerians seem to feel whenever they see an educated person struggling
They’ll use you for the craziest examples you can ever imagine
He told people to stop ranting about the government on Tiktok for selfish reasons.
He has being broke shaming and mocking hard working upright citizens and civil servants.
He makes brain rot content.
I don run out of space, let me if u want here more 😒😒.
All Ycee did was say the bitter truth about a topic a lot of people have been walking on eggshells around for years.
The aggressive decline in the academic sector isn't talked about enough, not in a country where the Jamb cut off mark is now 150.
Just 2010 here, anything below 200 will likely require you to retake the exam.
Today, all the average mind cares about is "He's making his money, education na scam" then we wonder why people make poor decisions everyday that could affect the lives of others.
Olodo uprising is an apt description of what is going on currently in Nigeria .
The issue is that it is very profitable to be a fool or pretend that you are an idiot .
Social media algorithms favors stupid content .
Stupidity and foolishness is viral .
So if virality gets you attention , income and sponsorships , many will do what they need for said virality .
Being an “olodo” has become a means of poverty alleviation.
As a result , we have rich fools whose wealth came as a result of positioning foolish content for a market that increasingly demands stupidity as a service .
