Police Salute Armed Men On Motorcycle, Deny They Are Bandits
The Nigeria Police Force has denied claims that officers were seen interacting with armed bandits in Katsina State after a viral video showed armed men on motorcycles being waved through by security personnel.
Police said the men were members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, warning that legal action could be taken against those spreading unverified claims.

In Support of Healthcare Delivery and Human Dignity
Today, I visited the Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital, Enugu State, which was recently affected by a devastating fire incident. During the visit, I inspected the damaged sections of the hospital, including the childrenâs ward, and made a donation of âŠ10 million to support the ongoing renovation efforts.
I commend the Reverend Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the hospital management for their commitment to healthcare delivery and service to humanity. Their sacrifice and dedication, often carried out with little recognition, remain invaluable to our society.
Healthcare and education are among the most critical needs of any nation. No meaningful development can occur where these sectors are neglected. It is, therefore, imperative that we continue to support institutions and individuals working tirelessly to provide quality healthcare and educational services to our people.
I encourage the management not to relent in their noble mission despite the challenges they face. As a society, we must collectively invest in and strengthen facilities for healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation.

This is Ali Kwara. Ali Kwara died in Abuja on November 6, 2020, as a result of complications from a spinal cord injury he sustained in a car accident. He was born in Azare, Bauchi State, and from a young age became known for pursuing notorious thieves and armed robbers.
Ali Kwara never waited for a court order before going after highway robbers, house burglars, or criminals hiding in forests. He did not need a badge or official recognition. If you were a thief, kidnapper, killer, or notorious terrorist, he would come after you. No uniform, no salary, no badge, no court orderâjust determination, a rifle, and a willingness to sacrifice himself for the mission. Ali Kwara did not concern himself with petty thieves or phone snatchers; he focused on high-profile armed robbers, ruthless kidnappers, and some of the most dangerous terrorists.
One of the most memorable episodes in his life involved a notorious armed robber known across Northern Nigeria as "Alin Barkeji." The criminal had terrorized communities and even posed a challenge to security agencies. In broad daylight, Ali Kwara entered the Bura Forest, captured him alive after breaking his legs, and seized 43 AK-47 rifles. After bringing him out of the forest, Ali Kwara handed him over to the police.
Three weeks later, Ali Kwara was informed that Alin Barkeji had escaped from police custody. He was reportedly shocked and asked, âEscaped? How can a terrorist with broken legs escape while under police custody?â From that moment, Ali Kwara reportedly concluded that as long as some security personnel were aiding and abetting criminals, Nigeria would never be safe. It is said that from then until his death, he no longer handed over captured robbers, kidnappers, or terrorists to security agencies.
The number of notorious criminals Ali Kwara reportedly eliminated remains part of his legacy. Six years after his death, his story continues to be remembered by many Nigerians. No uniform, no salary, no badge, no court orderâjust determination, a rifle, courage, and sacrifice in pursuit of his mission.
We will never forget you, Ali Kwara. â
