My friend was living like a tenant in his own house.

Nobody knows that he is the landlord except the caretaker.

He doesn't normally stay around, but whenever the caretaker calls for a tenants' meeting, he attends and pretends to be a tenant too.

At the end of last year, he called the caretaker and told him to organise an end-of-year party for the tenants.

During the celebration, the best tenant received a brand-new washing machine as a gift.

The winner was a lady who had rejected my friend when he asked her out.

As she carried her gift back to her apartment, she looked at my friend and said, "This is what real men do."

The first welcome I received in my shared house three years ago in the UK was when someone stole my jollof rice… and even helped themselves to fish and turkey from different bowls. Funny enough, I knew who it was, so I reported it to my landlord.

So the next time I wanted to cook jollof rice, the thief entered the kitchen while I was cooking so I asked, “Do you mind jollof rice?” The remaining statement stayed in my head:

”…before you steal another plate🙄”

She said she doesn’t eat Nigerian food.
Me in my head: “don’t sha steal my rice”(mind you, She was Ghanaian.)
I cooked my rice, packed it into seven takeaway packs, and kept them in the fridge… i woke up the next morning…

Two packs had disappeared. Along with 3 pcs of big chicken…. That day, I didn’t report anybody.
I entered everybody’s section of the fridge and carried food. Milk. Snacks. Indian food I don’t even eat. Everything I saw..
One lady had just ordered Turkish food. She was microwaving it, went to have a shower.. I picked it up too entered my room, ate part of it, dusted my bed and slept peacefully.

My phone was vibrating nonstop. The house group chat was on fire.

“Who took my food?”

“Where’s my milk?”

“Who took my snacks?”

My landlord later messaged me privately to ask if I knew anything about it.

I told him, “They should be grateful they fed an orphan. Isn’t the reward in heaven?” Three days later, he installed CCTV in the kitchen. That’s how we all stopped feeding the orphanage.

My landlord will never forget me.

One of my neighbours borrowed my Bluetooth speaker for his child's naming ceremony.

After the celebration, I asked for it.

He said one of his wife's relatives mistakenly carried it home.

Every week, he promised to retrieve it.

Five months later, he approached me to buy his second phone because he was broke.

We agreed on ₦180,000. He signed the buyer and seller agreement, wiped the phone and handed it over.

I transferred ₦20,000.

He looked at the screen, then at me.

I went inside, brought out the receipt for my Bluetooth speaker and said,

"I bought it for ₦200,000, but I'm giving it to you for ₦160,000. That's ₦160,000 off the ₦180,000 I owe you."

Later that evening, I overheard him on the phone saying,

🚨 𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡: UEFA has clarified that Marc Pubill's handball against Barcelona should have been a penalty, effectively confirming the Catalan club's long-standing complaint.

· UEFA has instructed referees that if an outfield player deliberately handles the ball inside their own penalty area while the ball is in play, a penalty must be awarded, leaving no room for interpretation.
