The recent images on social media showing the dehumanisation and mistreatment of other Africans in #SouthAfrica are deplorable. These actions underscore the critical importance of teaching accurate history. It appears the history of #apartheid is being swept under the rug. If fellow Africans are being treated this way, it suggests either a collective amnesia among those committing these acts or a lack of gratitude for the pan-African support provided during the struggle against the apartheid regime. Countries like #Nigeria and their citizens made significant sacrifices, including financial contributions from students and civil servants (who were taxed a percentage of their salaries) to support #indigenous South Africans against subjugation and brutal racism.

Unwarranted violence and vitriol between Africans only serve as a distraction from larger systemic issues. While every nation has the right to regulate its borders and address illegal immigration, these matters must be handled by the appropriate governing agencies.

Attacking school children and innocent foreign workers is a cowardly act. South Africans should address the root causes of their issues rather than targeting the vulnerable to exorcize their frustration. South Africa, learn to punch up, not down. Fellow Africans are not your enemy.

When superpowers engage in conflict, Africa suffers the consequences of a situation it did not create. To mitigate these economic shocks, Africa must achieve true financial independence.

Currently, most African nations lack control over their own resources. For example, Nigeria exports crude oil only to import refined oil and other finished products. Despite being resource-rich, Africa remains a consumer with an unbalanced trade deficit. This reliance is why Africa feels the impact whenever global powers face instability or volatility.

Africa must act strategically to stop importing inflation and dependency. Ultimately, only Africans can save Africa and secure its future.

#February is #BlackHistoryMonth in the #UnitedStatesofAmerica. It is the shortest month of the year. 🤔 The history of the United States of America cannot be told without Black history. That is an indisputable fact. As such, Black history should be taught in schools, beyond the month of February because it is intertwined in the fabric of #America (North and South).

Many schools do not teach #Black or #AfricanAmerican history and that is unfortunate. I encourage all parents and guardians to teach their children the history that is being slowly withdrawn from school books. African Americans have contributed to science, technology, literature, arts, etc. Let's keep making history every day! ❤️ ✊️

@AP This statement is confusing. What do they mean by "reproductive care"? On the surface, the term sounds like it is supporting reproduction, but it is contradictory. Why not call it what it is?
