Those attacking Rarara are missing the point. What Davido did at the World Cup stage was completely wrong. The World Cup is one of the biggest global events, watched by millions around the world, yet instead of promoting Nigeria’s strengths, culture, and achievements, he chose to highlight the country’s problems before an international audience.

No patriotic citizen should be comfortable with exposing the nation’s weaknesses on such a massive platform. Criticizing problems at home is one thing, but presenting them to the world in a way that damages the country’s image is another. Nigeria deserves better representation than that.

Rarara simply spoke his mind and defended the dignity of the nation. Rather than being insulted or attacked, he deserves credit for standing up for what many Nigerians believe. Speaking the truth should never be treated as a crime.

A true patriot promotes the image of his country before the world while working to solve its challenges through the proper channels. That is why many people believe Davido was wrong and that Rarara’s response was justified.

What Davido has gone to display at the World Cup is childishness. Portraying your country in a bad light is a bad thing. I'm even surprised that it is Rarara from the far North that got the brain to call him out over this. Do you point at your father's house with your left hand and still think you are big?

Those who saw the ugly side of Nigeria through Davido at the world cup cannot help us in our fight against insecurity. Taking the case to them in that manner only battered our image. I doubt if Davido is useful to us in that regard too. Why compounding our problems if you cannot help?

I think we should begin to do what other great countries do. Other great countries train their young ones to love their countries but Nigerian parents run down their own before their children. Those children grow to hate Nigeria that gave them love any country could afford. We have our challenges but that does not call for an unpatriotic act.

Except we have a country different from Nigeria, many Nigerians should be tutored on how to represent their country outside. When you call your country zoo in order to impress some people, you might later be caged in life

Not understanding English does not make someone illiterate. English is simply a language. Those from Northern Nigeria who mock Rarara as illiterate because of his English should know that he has memorized the entire Holy Qur'an. On that basis, calling him illiterate is inaccurate.

If you have memorized the entire Holy Qur'an, then you are more knowledgeable than many people around you who have not memorized it.

You are mistaken as a Muslim if you call someone who has memorized the entire Holy Qur'an illiterate just to impress non-Muslims or seek their approval.

Only Muslims can relate to this post.

I disagree with Rarara on most of his views. However, it is wrong for Davido to label him as uneducated, and equally wrong for our Northern people to accept that characterization simply because he does not possess a formal certificate.

Rarara has received a substantial Islamic education and therefore cannot fairly be described as uneducated. He can read and write in Arabic script, which is itself a form of literacy and learning. Education is not defined solely by Western-style certificates.

This is an important clarification to make.
