BREAKING: Medical Examiner rules Tarrant inmate Anthony Johnson died by Homicide Asphyxiation.

Johnson died at the Tarrant Jail in April after video shows a jailer placing a knee on his back while restraining him. Johnson can be heard saying he can’t breathe.

The jailer and a supervisor have been placed on paid leave while the Texas Rangers investigate Johnson’s death.

We’re reaching out to the Tarrant Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers to ask how the ruling of a homicide will impact the investigation.
