@nicksortor Is this the way the view is all the time? They have time to ask the question, give 10 seconds to respond, take the last word and then go to break every two minutes?
@RedTequilagirl@MalachiMul98652@drsimonegold Thatโs accurate but they had a margin of error which allowed thousands of females to be released as well. Any offspring were supposed to die as well which they have acknowledged didnโt always happen and now have produced hybrid mosquitoes.
@MalachiMul98652@drsimonegold Also, btw, we are in the third worst drought since 1895 so โwet weatherโ is not accurate either. Although this particular week has been a bit โnormalโ with storms..
Iโm sorry but that is not accurate. I appreciate the tone of your response not being demeaning, as so many posts nowadays are, but the target population of the prior release was a very very small percentage of the breeds we have here. Our main breed is salt marsh (non scientific name). The release had no positive impact on them (and had no intention of being) and now with a 1% error of many thousands (meaning breeding-biting females) of another breed we are now looking at a huge potential unintended impact with disease that was previously rare in this area. Our community posts with real world experiences have massively increased since the release and the releasors have acknowledged that they have found no measurable benefit so far.
@MorbiusMind@MalachiMul98652@drsimonegold If you are not part of the test subject population, which I am, then you have no room to comment.. I encourage you to read what an โExperimental Permitโ is and research the effects of their error percentage. Have a nice day.
@MalachiMul98652@drsimonegold BULL FโING CRAP!! Bill Gates dumped a bunch of the same here in the Keys and our biting mosquito problem is WORSE than EVER before.
@drsimonegold ButโฆI have learned coffee grounds are pretty amazing for keeping them away. I spread them all over when we are outside and have a bowl of grounds that I burn and it works pretty well.
@drsimonegold This already happened a few years ago in the Keys and has been a MASSIVE issue ever since!! Thank you for sharing and trying to spread the word!!
@BDCourt@drsimonegold It used to be in the summer for about an hour or two at dusk and dawn. Or when itโs windy it wasnโt bad. These things have power wings and will still find you in 25mph winds.
@BDCourt@drsimonegold We canโt go outside without getting swarmed now. Doesnโt matter the time of day or year anymore or even if there hasnโt been any rain.
