Shaurya Chakra awardee Amit Kumar Rana, a MARCOS commando of the Indian Navy, has passed away in a road accident.

In Op Danna, he neutralized a terrorist at extremely close range while providing cover to Lt Cdr Mahesh Kumar, who neutralized another terrorist. In Op Shok Baba, Rana sir volunteered to advance under heavy enemy fire and place an IED on a fortified terrorist hideout, leading to the elimination of three terrorists.
