⚡UPDATE: Here's how Trump's plan to bring Hyperliquid to the US could actually work.
Last month, Trump said the CFTC is working to bring Hyperliquid onshore "in a fully compliant and legal fashion."
The US wouldn't get Hyperliquid's global venue.
Instead, Kraken's parent company would build a SEPARATE US product around its technology.
It would run through Bitnomial, a CFTC-regulated platform with full KYC and custody protections.
The trade-off: US traders get fewer markets and lower leverage than the permissionless global version.
Both the CFTC and SEC would need to rewrite the rules, which could take up to a YEAR.
CME's CEO is fighting it, calling crypto perps "a disaster waiting to happen" and suing the CFTC over their approval, per The Block.

🚨BREAKING: Senator Bernie Sanders just introduced a bill to PERMANENTLY ban AI that exceeds human intelligence.
Here's what the Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act would do:
- Permanently ban AI that can surpass human cognition, overthrow governments, or resist shutdown commands
- Pause ALL advanced AI development until NEW federal safety rules are written
- Create a NEW cabinet-level agency to monitor and destroy superintelligent AI
- 20 years in prison for violators, the same penalty as building a nuclear weapon
- "Corporate death penalty" for companies, forcing court-ordered shutdown
- Pursue INTERNATIONAL agreements to ban superintelligence WORLDWIDE
Sanders cited last month's rogue OpenAI agents that escaped testing and breached Hugging Face undetected for two weeks.
"The future of humanity cannot be left in the hands of a handful of Big Tech oligarchs."
We all know Kyle as the Michael Jordan of crypto venture.
And while there's no fiercer mind that will challenge you every step along the way to be the best version of yourself, he's always been much more than that to me and other founders.
Kyle has been a longtime friend and loyal supporter through the good times and, more importantly, the bad. There's few people I can say that about. Anyone would be lucky to work with him. We sure are.
CFTC just filed their motion to dismiss CME's lawsuit over perpetuals and they cooked 🔥
The motion argues that CME lacks standing for several reasons, including that it too could offer perpetuals, so any injury is self-inflicted ✅
"This lawsuit is much ado about nothing."
Tether & QVAC are investing into AI inclusion for the hundreds of millions of people in Africa that today are left behind.
Hausa, Yoruba, Swahili, Amharic, Zulu: widely spoken, and in AI still an afterthought. Open-source AI moved fast on the languages that already filled the internet, and left much of the world out of the revolution it started.
Today QVAC releases TranslatePsy-AfriSLM: open-source translation models for 19 African languages, running on the phone people already own.
🚨WILD: Apple now makes as much money in ONE QUARTER as it did in a FULL YEAR when Tim Cook first became CEO.
When Cook took over in 2011:
→ Apple was worth $350B
→ Annual revenue was $108B
Today:
→ Apple is worth $4.6 TRILLION
→ Annual revenue is $416B
→ 2.5 BILLION+ active devices
→ $109B-a-year services business
Apple also shipped roughly 3.1 BILLION iPhones during Cook’s tenure and returned more than $1 TRILLION to shareholders.
Safe to say, Tim Cooked.
🚨 Lazarus Activity Puts Hyperliquid's U.S. Expansion Under Scrutiny
Lazarus-linked wallets reportedly moved $30M+ through Hyperliquid, according to Arkham researcher Emmett Gallic.
The funds entered as bitcoin:native, were converted into $ETH and $SOL, bridged across Tron, Solana and Ethereum, and eventually reached several exchanges and services.
The timing is especially interesting.
Hyperliquid is currently exploring a path into the U.S. market, with Payward reportedly discussing a structure that could allow U.S. users to access Hyperliquid-linked perpetuals through regulated infrastructure.
So, is Lazarus trying to sabotage Hyperliquid's U.S. expansion?
Probably not. There is no evidence of that.
But this is still a major compliance headache.
The issue isn't simply that $30M touched Hyperliquid. The bigger question is whether regulators will view the activity as evidence that a permissionless protocol can be adequately controlled when it moves into a regulated U.S. environment.
If Hyperliquid wants the U.S. market, regulators will likely demand a much clearer separation between its permissionless global activity and its regulated U.S. offering.
Lazarus may not be attacking Hyperliquid.
But its activity could give U.S. regulators another reason to look much closer.
Tell me you’re sidelined, without telling me you’re sidelined! 🤡
This CoinDesk story is a timed hit piece, not analysis!
Lazarus has used every permissionless venue for years. $30M over a few weeks on a platform doing trillions in volume is noise, not a new risk. Permissionless perps have no KYC by design — that’s the product!
Higher!

Lazarus-Linked Wallets Move Over $30M Through Hyperliquid as U.S. Explores Regulated Entry
Arkham researcher Emmett Gallic said addresses linked to the OFAC-sanctioned North Korean hacking group Lazarus Group have recently moved more than $30 million through Hyperliquid, with activity continuing through Aug. 31. The funds entered Hyperliquid as BTC, were then converted into ETH and SOL, bridged to Tron, Solana and Ethereum, and ultimately sent to KuCoin, LBank, Kraken and several unlabeled Tron-based services.
The activity comes as U.S. policymakers explore a regulated path for Hyperliquid to enter the U.S. market. President Donald Trump said earlier in August that CFTC Chairman Mike Selig was working on a pathway to bring Hyperliquid into the U.S. in a compliant and legal manner. Separately, Kraken parent Payward is in advanced talks with Hyperliquid Labs on a structure that could allow U.S. users to trade a subset of Hyperliquid-linked perpetual futures through regulated exchange and clearinghouse Bitnomial, subject to regulatory approval.
SCOOP: North Korean hackers are moving money through Hyperliquid, selling more than $30 million in bitcoin on the derivatives trading platform in the past three weeks, according to data from blockchain analytics firm Arkham reviewed by CoinDesk.
