Despite the fact that every game in this series has gone over so far, I still see value on the under here. The results have been high-scoring, but many of those goals came from unusual sequences and extreme swings in momentum rather than sustained offensive dominance.

We saw things like Marner scoring the fastest hat trick and Carolina putting up three goals in one minute — those aren’t the kind of events you can expect to happen consistently. In general, this series has felt more like an under series than the final scores suggest.

With Game 4 carrying huge importance and both teams likely making defensive adjustments, I expect a more controlled and disciplined approach. For me, there’s solid value on the total staying under.

Game 4, Carolina lead the series 2-1. Yes, the Habs are a bit down right now, and their game has changed a lot since Game 1. They created more dangerous scoring chances in that opener than in the next two games combined.

Still, this team has something special, and they’re absolutely capable of turning things around. Montreal are extremely efficient when they do get their chances, and while Carolina will likely control more of the play, the Habs remain very dangerous on limited opportunities. At home, I don’t think Montreal should be priced as this big of an underdog.

Series prediction: 4-2 Montreal

Game 1. In my opinion, this will be the first truly serious playoff test for Carolina. They swept their first two series, but neither opponent looked fully ready for this stage. On the other side, Montreal — with one of the youngest squads in the playoffs — have already battled through 14 playoff games and look mentally hardened for this moment.

I believe the Canadiens absolutely have the tools to stop Carolina in this series. They’re battle-tested, playing with confidence, and the deeper a young team goes, the more dangerous they become. That said, Game 1 is still a strong spot for the home side. Carolina should use their home ice, structure, and special teams to take the opener, but I expect this series to shift after that.

Even against a Padres lineup facing right-handed pitching, his elite fastball-slider combination matches up well against several hitters with elevated whiff rates, giving him strong upside to clear 7.5 strikeouts if he works deep enough into the game.

They've cleared this mark pretty easily in the last three games of the series thanks primarily to a fast pace and high shot volume that I expect to continue into tonight.

The series is actually being played at a little bit of a faster pace than the teams averaged during the regular season.

Combine that with this being a physical series leading to a lot of free throws.

The rough play should continue tonight with the Twolves being eager to respond to Wemby trying to decapitate Naz Reid and the Spurs not backing down.
