the laughter kept bubbling out, increasing at the sight of the offended expression across his features. it was just too damn priceless.
”i have no clue,” she finally calmed down, catching her breath; ”i suppose you’ll either have to be less amusing or less handsome?”
⠀
⠀⠀⠀
❝ she sure is ! just not in this case ❞ he said , half jokingly .
❝ no , but seriously , how am i meant to prove to your mom that what she’s saying is not true ? ! ❞
⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
until she had reminded him of those , they completely escaped his mind . another smile appeared .
❝ oh , yeah ! of course ! well , that’ll be the first thing on the list of things to do tonight . ❞
⠀⠀⠀
⠀
tate nodded in agreement, glancing at her own phone to double check the time. it would definitely be for the better to head out before dark.
“we should go get those bags of crisps we used to snack on as well,” she added quickly; “if they even exist these days, that is.”
⠀
⠀
“i could say it as well, but i don’t want to 𝙖𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙩 it,” a bright laughter escaped her, tate now reaching for a pillow to toss it in the zane's face;
⠀⠀“hey, my mom’s a wise woman! . . . 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴.”
⠀
⠀⠀⠀
❝ that’s not true ! ❞ he said , shaking his head at the statement .
❝ i mean , if you were saying it , sure ❞ he added on , a small smile .
❝ ( but ) not from your mom ! ❞
⠀⠀⠀
⠀
“aha, you didn’t find out his name from my 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘳𝘺 under the bed?” she teased, sticking her tongue out in a childish manner prior to slipping down beside her elder sister.
⠀⠀“you actually know him. 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢."
⠀
“Well? Who is he?” She asks a second time, ignoring her suggestion that she doesn’t talk loudly while being in fact 𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝.
Caroline takes the opportunity to sit on the end of Tate’s bed, patting the vacant spot beside her.
⠀
+ she had been eager to share the news with someone, and she had missed being able to talk to caroline about everything going on in her life as all the years apart surely had stained their relationship.
⠀
⠀
𝐝 𝐮 𝐦 𝐛 !
“i don’t talk loudly—!”
she made an attempt to maintain the stern posture along with the irritated tone, but it all faltered together before she could blink. +
⠀
𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐛!?
“I can’t help what I can hear! It’s not my fault you talk so loudly on the phone.” She shakes her head, crossing her arms.
“So. Who is he? Tell me everything.”
⠀
and more dramatic it would get.
tate started at her in disbelief, lifting a hand to pinch the bridge of her nose out of pure frustration;
“did you use that /dumb/, supernatural hearing of yours to 𝙨𝙥𝙮 on me?”
⠀
The blonde rolls her eyes, acting as though the reaction her sister had toward her going through her stuff had been somewhat dramatic.
“I heard you. On the phone. Talking to a 𝒃𝒐𝒚.”
