I just finished reading a case on the Nigerian Weekly Law Report website, Victor v. F.U.T.A. (2026) 8 NWLR (Pt. 2044) 33. In this case, the Appellant instituted an action against his university, the Federal University of Technology, Akure, seeking a re-mark of his scores in
Before you board: The basics you shouldn't ignore
Introduction
Welcome to the very first edition of Runway Brief.
A lot of passengers interact with airlines almost every day without fully understanding their rights, protections, responsibilities, and legal remedies available to them when things go wrong.
For many Nigerians, air travel is often reduced to booking a ticket, checking in, boarding a flight, and hoping everything goes smoothly. But behind every flight exists a legal and regulatory system that governs airlines, airports, passengers, safety obligations, delays, cancellations, baggage handling, compensation, complaints, and enforcement.
Unfortunately, many passengers do not even know they have right or only discover these rights after they have already been stranded, delayed, embarrassed, or financially affected.
We exist to bridge that gap and simplify both local and international aviation law in a practical and relatable way.
Fasten your seatbelt.
After four years full of challenges and hard work, it's time to move on.
I leave with the feeling that the mission is complete. 4 seasons, 3 championships.
I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my very first days.
Catalonia is my place on earth.
Thank you to everyone I met along the way during these beautiful four years.
A special thank you to President Laporta for giving me the chance to live the most incredible chapter of my career.

Court: "Mr. Akano, please ask your questions in ways that the witness will understand, he is not a lawyer."
Me: "Your Worship, I have been a lawyer for awhile now and I barely know how laymen speak again."
The whole court erupts with laughter πππ
Iβm convinced that everyone should take a big swing at some point in their life and experience what itβs like to truly go all in on a meaningful pursuit otherwise they grow bitter with age.
DAY 1 - Introduction to Corporate Financing.
So, your client needs money to run his business, should he take a loan, issue bonds, sell shares or mix it up?
Welcome to Day 1 of my 20-day series where I'd discuss finance with you guys.
Every company, from start ups
Guys, always stand up to shake hands. If the other person is older than you, it shows respect. If they are younger than you, it shows humility. Either way, you win. People who sit to shake hands are bad-mannered.
When you shake hands, do not just offer a limp hand... even to an elder! Make sure that your handshake is firm. It shows confidence and fitness.
Then make sure that you look into the personβs eyes. It shows interest, attention and confidence. Donβt look away furtively like a liar and a thief!
Remember, as a man, there should be nothing limp or flaccid about you. You should always be polite and gracious, quietly confident (not arrogant, that is for inferior men) and erect. Always erect!
I am Ezemmuo. I know things.
I just check my portal now and yes Iβm still a FIRST CLASS GRADUATE.
When I saw the BREAKDOWN OF THE BAR FINALS RESULT 2024/2025 CLASS
With FIRST CLASS β 212 (2.8%) of 7000+ students.β¨
If I did not make First Class I will not be happy with myself not because there are no other things in life but simply because I know I sabi the Law of a thing and been denied in the University, this was my last and only shot at it in the Nigerian system I had to completely lose myself. From the very first day of resumption I only concerned myself with understanding what the system required from you for a First Class result and I eventually figured it out, the truth is for you to make first class, you need to be DUMB. You heard it right, dumb yourself down!
Youβve heard it before, very brilliant people who could not make First class the truth aside other factors like time and unfortunate circumstances, usually is they were probably too smart in answering the questions by overthinking.
When you overthink the questions like it was designed for special people (like your brilliant self), you eventually run the risk of race conditioning yourself rather than sticking to the plan.
When I went through the compendium my first thought was, is this designed for law students with big brains? That exactly is the pitfall! The thinking that you are better than the system is when you feel you have to over produce answers and engage in complex maneuvers when answering your questions.
Be a good student, follow the instructions, donβt be wise because the marking scheme is designed to settle issues joined by people smarter than yourself.
For the current set, please marry the compendium, study how they actually set and answer the questions, remember the standard in legal practice is that of the average practitioner not the best of the best.
Therefore tone down your thought, define obvious things when answering your questions never ever think the examiner should know the meaning of this, cite your authorities properly, write structured not under assumptions that they should know what you mean, treat your examiner like a novice you are trying to explain things to. Remember your answer should target the marking scheme (check compendium) not textbook standards.
In retrospect, the exams were simple and that is why people fail it because it was designed to test your understanding of the question not the textbooks. You can know the textbooks cover to cover but if you fail to understand the question you will overshoot the target.
Remember you can do it, the materials are there already you just have to study them not read, study! I wish you all the best your own attempt.
In January I did a land sale agreement worth 2.4M. They signed without reading. Buyer paid 2M and bal. of 400k was to be paid by 15-03-2026. They made time of essence with respect to bal. of purchase price. As expected, buyer defaulted. Seller gets a new buyer offering 3M.
