Why did Bernie Sanders try to eliminate the means-tested social safety net with universal economic programs, but then none of his supporters criticized this but then critiqued Yang for doing the same thing with UBI?

Hypothesis: It’s simply because Bernie didn’t campaign on UBI.

Progressives who oppose universal basic income because the rich get it too should start proposing that Medicare for All exclude those same people, that those same people aren't allowed to send their kids to public schools, and that they'll need to pay for their own firefighters.

@CocaParticle @NishaniAlways Impoverished and disease-ridden communities have a high birthrate, but when you know you and your children will likely survive well into adulthood you have fewer children. It's well-documented that birthrate and population growth are lower in developed than developing countries.

@CocaParticle @NishaniAlways He's referring to declining population growth in post-industrial countries in this instance, with vaccination against disease being one of the hallmarks of a developed country. He listed it together with healthcare and reproductive health services in regard to population growth.
