Dear all.
This is the very last post I will make on this network.
Twitter was once a very exciting place for science but this is unfortunately over.
Thank you all for following me and for those who want to continue, I will be found here: @[email protected]
Mastodon seems like an acceptable alternative, but before opening an account, I would like to get a sense as to what server most of the scientific community is moving to ?
Just returning from vacations and Twitter has turned into Hell. I just spend 15 minutes blocking unwanted accounts from my feed. I will therefore (like many others) terminate my account.

A central problem in the interpretation of the scientific literature is that people (both in and outside of science) systematically fail to recognize that peer review is not, and has never been, about validating facts. It is about certifying conformity of approach.
Well I guess the picture illustrating the paper clearly demonstrates that indeed old white males are discriminated!! (discriminated for, not against, of course...)
Unbelievable that the techniques are sensitive enough to allow single cell RIBOsome profiling. I'm not updated in cutting edge proteomics - is mass spect applicable to single cell too? (probably not, right?)
Please RT: Two (3+y) postdoctoral research fellowships. If you want to work in a multidisciplinary team to study how cells make decisions please get in touch. Ideally you have a background in physics, maths, comp bio, but discipline hoppers also welcome.

Ever wondered how transient transcription factor DNA binding can robustly activate transcription? In this new preprint, we find support for one of the possible mechanisms: transcription factors exchange. A 🧵 1/9. https://t.co/6UFZxyxWmI
I'm hiring! Bioinformatics post-doc position open in my lab, with a focus on single cell and spatial epigenomics in mammalian development, cell reprogramming, and epigenome editing. Get in touch if interested, and apply here: https://t.co/zRroQD4Uap. Please RT!
My blog is now updated with correspondence with CNRS Scientific Integrity Officer. Unfortunately, we had strong differences of opinion about keeping this confidential. I justify my decision to publish at the end.

First draft is ready on Arxiv. Many thanks to @martijnende@quakephysics and @SeismoSue and others. I will try to submit it soon. https://t.co/NNGvzesoSv
There’s been a lot of discussion of scientific fraud of late. Here I suggest “one weird trick” we might use to help deal with fraud:
*actually punish fraudsters*!!
